Nine Months
Today, Ella is nine months old. It's hard to believe she will be a year old in three more months! She has grown so much. Everyday she amazes me with the new things she can do (or is attempting to do). She currently has 5 teeth, with one more on the way. She loves to eat, but prefers to feed herself. Because of this, it's hard to give her baby food anymore. She gets mad if you try to spoon feed her. Therefore, I give her Gerber "puffs" for self-feeding, and sneak in the baby food between each bite. Ella really enjoys table food. She will pretty much eat anything you put in front of her. This morning she tried cinnamon rolls for the first time. She loved them!
Other things Ella is doing right now:
* Pulling up on everything
* Giving herself nice bruises and "knots" from pulling up (and falling down)! She hasn't mastered getting down yet.
* Crawling on her hands and knees (instead of doing the military crawl)
* Getting into a sitting position on her own
* Babbling all the time! We're convinced she mimicked us telling her, "No, no!" the other night. She tries to repeat sounds we make.
* Waving bye-bye (This is also her way of saying hello.)
* Objects (with a fit) when things are taken away

Where is my Christmas Card?!
In case you were wondering why you didn't receive my Christmas card this year, it's because I didn't get around to sending any! Being the procrastinator that I am, I didn't get Christmas photos of the girls in time. Instead, I decided to take some of the pressure off of myself, and send New Years cards. So, here is a preview of what you will be getting in the mail soon. And NO, Kelly! You won't receive it on New Years day! (My sister has been after me about getting these pictures done! She is not a procrastinator.)

A Picture with Santa
We took Kellynn and Ella to see Santa tonight. Kellynn was excited to see him - but Ella was not! This picture was taken right before Ella turned around to see who was holding her. When she saw Santa, her bottom lip started to curl downward and the tears started flowing! She cried all the way home...literally! Thirty minutes!

A Good Day
Today was a good day. It wasn't a busy day...just a "Reconnect Sunday." What is it about having children that turns your life so upside down? I guess it's the constant need for care and attention that only Mommy and Daddy can provide. During the week, we're rushed here and there with barely a moment to sit still and relax. In the process, we lose good, quality time with our family. Today, we decided to go to church. Getting out of the house in time, was a challenge - and a little stressful too. But we made it! Afterwards, we went out to eat and then headed to good 'ole Super Walmart to pick up some necessities. (I prefer Target, but it is 45 minutes away!) We took our time while shopping, and got some last minute ideas to add to Santa's list. We then went home and just relaxed for the rest of the day. I rested on the couch while the girls took a nap and Kevin read a book. When they woke up, we played together until dinner. It wasn't an eventful day - just a good day to spend with my family. I am so lucky to have them in my life!

I PASSED!

I'm Still Here...
Wow! Where has the time gone?! I can't believe I haven't posted since Halloween! I really need to get on the ball. So here is a quick update on what's been going on around here:1. We had thanksgiving at our house this year. Usually we drive to Florida for the holiday, but decided to stay here since we were just down there in July. We had a great time with our "North Carolina" family and friends. I made my first turkey ever. It was great, thanks to Kate's recipe!
2. Ella is 8 months old now. She is crawling all over the place! It's more of a "military" crawl - but of course Kevin calls it the "Marine" crawl. Whatever it is, Ella is on the go around the clock. I'm not sure she will ever crawl the "normal" way (on her hands and knees), because she is already starting to put forth some effort into pulling up. She almost pulled up in her crib tonight. Ella is also cutting more teeth. She started with two on the bottom about two months ago. Then she got two top teeth a month later - but not the ones in the middle. Now the two in the middle are trying to poke their way through her gums. They should make an appearance in the next day or two. I will be glad when they do because Ella has been fus-sy! She is also putting those new teeth to work! She loves eating table food! If we are eating, she wants to be eating too. She likes broccoli, green beans, mashed potatoes,and chicken. So far, the only thing she has turned her nose up to - is grits.
3. Kellynn was the flower girl in a wedding last weekend. She looked so beautiful - not to mention, GROWN UP! Where did my baby go?! She couldn't wait to wear her "wedding dress" and get her hair done like Cinderella. She did a great job! Afterwards, she danced the night away at the reception. I wish I had her energy! On a different note, my Dad surprised us and came up for the wedding. It was good to see him and Tracy.
4. Christmas is two weeks away, and I'm not in the mood to go Christmas shopping. Seeing how I have LOTS of shopping left to do, I spent the weekend doing some online shopping. I hope my gifts make it before Christmas!
5. Kevin has a new job. He is still with the same company - just in a different position. So far, the atmosphere at his new job is "laid back." This is great for him (and me), since he used to come home stressed out everyday! Unfortunately, he is gone right now. He was sent to Atlanta for four days of training. We will miss him.
6. This Wednesday is approaching too slowly. It's the day final scores are released for National Boards. I hope I passed. If not, I have one more year to try again (and bank points). Otherwise, it's back to the drawing board to do the entire thing over again! I don't want to go there! I'm getting sick to my stomach just thinking about it! Wish me luck!
