Winding Down and Camping Out

My summer is coming to an end. In only 7 short days, I will be going back to work. I have a lot in store for me this school year. As I've mentioned before, I am moving out of First grade and will be working with older kids - 4th graders. I am anxious and excited about the change. Over the past week, I've tried to squeeze in every doctor, dentist, and hair appointment possible. I think they are all covered, except for one. The dreaded one. You know what I'm talking about, ladies. I am trying to put that one off, but know I shouldn't.

On Saturday, we are headed to the mountains for a final summer vacation. We are going to Cherokee, NC. Did I mention we are camping? Well really, we are staying in a cabin, but it's in a campground. We are joining one of Kevin's friends who has his own camper. Their family enjoys camping and suggested we come along and stay in the cabin. We are planning to go tubing, biking, and just hang out. We will be close to Harrah's Casino and not too far from the Biltmore house, so maybe we can head over to one of those places one afternoon. I hope the weather cools off for our trip. It's been anywhere from the upper 90s to over 100 degrees this week. Did I mention our cabin has no AC? Apparently, AC is not needed in the mountains. I guess we'll test out that theory on this trip.

What a fun vacation! Enjoy time together - ALL together. I've just started back to work (what???), and it seems harder and harder to all be together with the hustle of the school year. Have fun!

Yayyyyy for VACATION! Good for you! Good luck with camping and no A/C! That sucks! I'm not a camper....I prefer hotel rooms :o) Also...what a transition from little ones to 4th graders! Wow! Hope all goes well! By the way...get your butt to the female doc....I know it sucks but you gotta do it! I hate it too! When I was pregnant with Ella I was on bedrest for 3 1/2 months! So, I had to see the gyno EVERY week....yep....SUCKS!

I soooo love Cherokee. Are you staying at the KOA? That is where we staye and it was really nice. There was a brook/creek whatever you call it that ran past some of the cabins. We went in October so it was freaking cold at night. Have fun. I am so jealous.

I hope you live through the heat wave to tell us about the trip. Family togetherness is nice no matter what. :)

By the way, I LOVED teaching 4th grade. If you ever want to talk about it, let me know. I miss it!

Good Luck at the doc. Maybe it will be short and sweet. I am sure you will enjoy 4th grade. Just think, you will dig right into the work instead of working on forming a line to the bathroom or going over classroom rules for the 1st week.
Have fun on your vacation. Sounds like great trip. When I was small, we took our camper to the beach every year. I LOVED the campground setting. It is such a cute little community. I would always make a friend and we would go to each other's camper to play together. You really can't do that in a hotel. The girls will love it!
